UK

To boost organic traffic to your website for Google in the UK, your site needs to be written and structured well for SEO.

Getting better Google results for British websites

Your website is competing with tens of thousands of others in the UK. But ultimately it's Google that decides which ones are most suited to the customers or the visitors you're targeting. So a good place to start in your efforts for optimization to get your site onto Google's first page is to ask, how do Google's search engines decide which sites to serve up to your UK audience?

Keywords are your search starting point

For every search phrase a user types in, Google's algorithm delivers up first the web pages that it deems most relevant for the search's keywords. To do this, Google, and the other search engines, first look at the extent to which keywords occur in the important content elements on every web page. Google also looks at the number of synonyms and related words to your keyword. Google’s mission is to "organize the world’s information and make it universally accessible and useful". These words, relating to SEO, come directly from Google's website. Then Google weighs up the value of each page. It bases its optimization ranking decisions largely upon the importance of the words that appear on that page. Search engines use complex algorithms to assess your keyword usage and density. They also examine for optimization where those words are positioned within your content and structure. Google factors in too how much value to assign optimization elements such as your inbound and outbound links. All of these optimization indicators, and more, are what affect your UK SEO ranking.

Improve your website performance even more with Keyboost

So how is your website performing in Google for the keyword phrase you're targeting? If you're not yet in the top 10 results, we can help – with our Keyboost tool. How does it work for optimization? Keyboost uses algorithms, similar to Google's, to analyse your keyword. It then uses software to place what are known as 'dynamic links' to your site from other relevant websites. It selects only those that Google determines as the most authoritative and pertinent to that keyword. Linking your webpage with such domains endorses the authenticity of the content of your site. The result? Google rates your site more highly and pushes it up the rankings. Note, Keyboost does this without changing the content of your website. Test it for yourself now. To try out our SEO optimization tool, simply click here. It’s totally free. We offer one Keyboost trial per domain name, for one keyword. To be eligible to use it for optimization of your UK site, we require that your website is currently in Google’s top 100 for a search in the UK with your chosen keyword. Once begun, the SEO trial takes about a month to complete. Generally, after a few weeks, the results are very clear. Our research shows that most Keyboost users see their rankings improve dramatically. They also get a SERPs improvement far more quickly than with even big spends on Google Adwords. Better still, our Keyboost trial is free.

Starting point for your UK SEO website strategy

But where do you start when planning your website strategy to do well in the search engines? Some good questions to ask yourself are the following:

  1. What kind of visitor do I want to attract to my website? How would I describe my target audience?
  2. Do I have the skills and understanding to optimize my site DIY-fashion. Or should I contract a specialist SEO consultant?
  3. Who are my competitors – because I’ll want to improve on their SERPs to compete with them through search engine optimisation for customers?
  4. How can I influence my optimisation results by securing backlinks?
  5. How much time (or cash if I’m using a SEO specialist) can I devote to optimization of my website initially and in the future?
  6. How good are my web development skills? Consider this carefully. A lot of SEO you can do yourself but many aspects do need specific technical and marketing expertise.

SEM involves marketing your website or business through paid advertisements on search engine results pages (or SERPs). These adverts, or pay-per-click ads, can be set up in different ways. Some are small text ads, or you can choose visual product listing ads (or shopping ads). Social media strategies for search engine optimization include blogging (using target keywords) and promoting your site on the right social media channels for you. Depending on your business, these might be LinkedIn (a powerful tool if you’re a B2B company), Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Tumblr, and Pinterest, to name but a few. Get in touch for an exploratory conversation to see how we can help you with your UK SEO.

Why keywords are ‘key’

In order to promote your company or your products on the web with optimization, you need to attract people towards your site. The more people that arrive at your site, the better chance you have to interact with them. But it has to be the right visitors. Knowing your buyer persona and understanding your customers’ behaviour is essential to the process of determining keywords. You need to know your customers’ goals, painpoints and their industries. When it comes to choosing what keywords to use for optimization, use the ones that your potential buyers, clients, and customers will use. When you’re choosing, it’s better not to necessarily employ the keywords you would use. Instead, imagine yourself as the customer. Very often the keywords a business owner thinks he or she should try and rank for are not actually the terms their customers would type in.

Optimization for the UK's search engines with keywords

So how do you find the best terms for search engine optimization? Contact us to know more. But start by asking your customers or colleagues. Look at your social media and see how people are talking. Also make use of Google Autocomplete. These are all real life searches by other people so they’re worth taking note of. Popularity is what drives them. If many people who start typing in “tickets” then go on to type “tickets for Disneyland,” that will lead to “tickets for Disneyland” presenting as a suggestion. Then turn to the big range of keyword optimization search tools that are available. Some are paid for; some are free. The best free one for UK SEO has to be Google AdWords Keyword Planner. You don’t need to spend any money on AdWords – just a Google account. Once you’ve done this, you can type in a keyword or keyword phrase and the planner will tell you search volume (how often it is used) and the competition (how many people or businesses want to rank for that word). Better still, the planner lets you sort your results by language, location, and mobile or desktop use. Use it to hone your search engine optimization.

There are three types of keywords to bear in mind for optimization:

  1. Transactional – The user wants to do something like buy, sign up, register to complete an action. For example, buy vintage mirror or join the National Trust.
  2. Informational – The user wants to learn something or find something out. For example, how old is Donald Trump?
  3. Navigational – The user knows exactly where they are going. For example, National Rail website or NHS Direct.

Content elements, ranked from very important to less important:

  1. 1. Title tag: this is the title of the web page and it’s what appears in the browser and in the list of Google search results.
  2. 2. Meta description: this is the short description or summary of the content that you see when it appears in the list of Google search results if sufficiently relevant. Use your keywords in it for best optimization and write it as a call to action. Think of it as a small advertisement for your site and use it to draw visitors in.
  3. 3. Headers: these are the headings and sub-headings in the text of the web page and they’re labelled H1, H2, H3 etc and you use them in descending importance. Make good use of your keywords.
  4. 4. Body: this is the actual text content of the web page in which you want to concentrate your keywords.
  5. 5. Links: these are the external links - to other websites - and the internal links - to other pages on your own website - on the web page. Search engines use these to determine the authority of your site and also as the path to crawl internally.
  6. 6. Alt-information: this is the the text information that is linked to images, videos or other non-textual items on the web page. Here you want to use your keywords too if you can. It’s easy to forget alt-tags but they’re important.
  7. 7. Bold: these are the words and/or text on the web page that you want to stand out so they are highlighted or made bold, italic or underlined. Search engines give these words a higher weighting so make use of them well.
  8. 8. Small: the words or text on the web page that are 'downlighted', i.e. reduced in size compared to ordinary text.
  9. 9. Meta keywords: the list of relevant keywords that make up the important content of the web page. Not all search engines consider these but they’re still worth including.

We were, of course, hesitant to try using Keyboost but decided to try the free trial and it worked!! We went from 18th position to 6th which was impressive and now we will try again with 16 more keywords. So far so good. They clearly know what they are doing. Will come back in a few months and report again on hopefully a successful campaign.

EXCELLENT
I didn't have much faith in it, but during the free Keyboost test for my electralampe.fr site, I quickly noticed a number of visits and extra sales, with only one keyword.
I highly recommend KEYBOOST to improve the performance of your site.
Just did a trial with KeyBoost and it works, we went from page 2 to page 1 and that is of course the only page that matters. Now let's see if we can keep it going....

Keyboost proves its usefulness by raising the ranking in a few weeks on the basis of 1 keyword. The extent to which this will generate more visitors and thus increase sales is difficult to estimate on the basis of 1 keyword. For some time you should have the opportunity to see if the higher rankings result in more sales on the basis of several essential keywords for your site.

We have recently had a boost from Keyboost. It worked, it had great results. We were immediately findable and approachable for customers, well visible and that is the most important thing because it pays off immediately. Thanks to Keyboost.

KEYBOOST works wonderfully and has even far exceeded our expectations, I highly recommend you test it, the trial is free and it only takes a short time to subscribe.
Indeed, the free trial period of KEYBOOST has incredibly optimized our website, enoxone.com, in Google search results. We reached the 3rd place and even managed to surpass some of our competitors who were, before Keyboost optimization, always better ranked than us.
We are seriously thinking about making a paid SEO optimization with Keyboost because we have never had such good results with a free trial before.
Don't hesitate one second longer and visit the website to sign up for a free trial of KEYBOOST and discover its undeniable power. I can assure you that you will not be disappointed and on the contrary, will be very satisfied with the results.

We also made use of the free Keyboost offer for our restaurant. It is a miraculous phenomenon, our website shot up like a rocket.
The Keyboost offer is fun and good, and not intrusive. We are often approached by all kinds of parties that usually pretend to be Google, we have never gone into that before.
With Keyboost this is not the case at all, they offer to prove themselves first, and they certainly have done so.

I'm testing Keyboost Français on a keyword.
Just to see...
Well, now I see!
On a competitive keyword, 9900 exact searches per month, I moved from position 72 to position 18 in just over a month!!
I'm waiting to see what it will look like after 3 months, but I have to admit that, for the moment, it's pretty impressive, their service.
